Description
All works in this exhibition are beautifully framed.
Photographs of these lusciously textured oil paintings don’t show the exquisite rendering of thickly applied oil paint. Parker has masterfully conquered this difficult style of painting which can only be fully appreciated when viewing the work in person.
To work from life, Parker has concentrated on capturing the natural energy of the moment in terms of time and history, as in the natural age of the landscape and all that has gone before the moment of painting. Parker has spent most of his painting time walking in the Noosa National Park, carrying small, and at times, large canvases and oil paint into quiet locations, often off the side of a cliff, to create the works for “Shore’s Edge”.
Noosa National Park provides a wonderful variety of geological formations and sandy coves and beaches, and the contrast of the shoreline and the sea, and the edge they share are the basis of this exhibition.
