I get my inspiration from the human form and I love the exciting variety of shape, movement and expression that can be achieved by abstracting. The blend of movement and abstract creates an amazing amount of challenge in keeping the pieces balanced yet pleasing to the eye and touch.

Artist Statement

I love sculpting. I get my inspiration from the human form and I love the exciting variety of shape, movement and expression that can be achieved by abstracting. The blend of movement and abstract creates an amazing amount of challenge in keeping the pieces balanced yet pleasing to the eye and touch.

I first studied sculpting at the Queensland College of Art but went on to a career in illustration and graphic design and did not return to sculpting until about five years ago when I was able to devote more time to this passion.

My interest in sculpting has deepened and developed over these last few years through my exposure to other sculptors - their art, their stories and encouragement and their very generous sharing of skills and knowledge.

I am a member of the Sculptors Queensland and have studied with Derek Rintol and Georgette Schwantes and attended workshops conducted by Erica Mayer, Bob McKerrell, and Yanna Pameijer.
